Home Inspection FAQs:

A: A typical home inspection will include a visual exam of all the homes systems to include the roof, attic, insulation, structure, HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, windows and doors, floors, foundations and much much more.  All inspections are conducted according to the InterNACHI Standards of Practice.  Visit the "Typical Inspection" page to see a detailed list of what is inspected.

Q: Do I need a home inspection?
A: As one of the largest investments you will ever make, you owe it to yourself to have your new home fully evaluated from an unbiased point of view.  You should learn as much as you can about the condition of the property and the need for any major repairs before you buy.  Of course, a home inspection will also point out the positive aspects of the home as well as maintenance suggestions to keep it in good shape.

If you're already a home owner, an inspection can identify potential problems and point out preventive measures which can help you avoid costly future repairs.  If you plan on selling your home in the near future, an inspection can give you a better idea of the actual condition of the home and afford you the opportunity to make repairs to present the home in the best condition possible.

Q: Can I inspect the home myself?
A: Absolutely, but do you really have the expertise and experience to fully evaluate all the systems of the home?  Couple that with the emotional attachment you have already developed for the home and you have a recipe for disappointment.  As a professional home inspector, I posses that expertise and experience.  I am familiar with the many elements of construction, proper installation, and maintenance as well as how the homes components are intended to function and work together and how they are likely to fail.  It's always best to have an impartial thrid-party opinion froman expert in the field of home inspection.
Q: How much does a home inspection cost?
A: Our pricing for a standard home inspection starts at $289.  However, there are several variables that will determine the final price of the inspection so it's best to call us at 877-464-9401 to give you a quote.

Q: Can a house "Fail" an inspection?
A: No.  A professional home inspection is an examination of the current physical condition of the home and determine what may need to be repaired or replaced.
A: When determining who you want to inspect your new home there are several things you should look at, experience and education are two of the biggest.  Ensuring that your inspector belongs to a natioanlly recognized association is also a wise move.  National associations ensure that your inspector maintains their education level and follow a strict code of ethics to protect both you and the inspector.  I invite you to review my qualifications.
